The Elder Scrolls Conversion Project; Items and Weapons

There are many fantastical materials in the world of Elder Scrolls, and the people craft weapons from these materials often. These are an important part of the world, so I cannot leave them out from the conversion project. Below you will find the different materials, and the quality of weapons made from them.

Low quality Materials

Iron

Iron weapons and armor are low quality and cheap weapons, often the remains of a passed age. Generally speaking only the poorest, most unfortunate of adventurers and citizens use iron weapons. Cheap and easy to produce, only a few people use crude iron weapons, usually because they don't have the means to acquire better. In most cases these weapons were dug up from graves, or in rare instances they are inherited from a long line of ancestors.

Average quality materials

Steel

Steel is the most common material in the Empire to forge weapons and armor. Generally available, most people who actually wish to use weapons invest in steel. The Legionnaires as well as most guardsmen are issued steel equipment.

Orcish

Orcish weapons and armors are crafted by orcs from Iron-Orichalcum alloy. They are usually heavy and sturdy, but not very common, as Orcish smiths rarely share the secrets of their trade, and orcs almost never part from their weapons and armor

Good quality materials

Silver

Silver, or silvered weapons are very common despite their increased price. The ability of a silvered blade to ignore magical resistances makes it the weapon of choice for many adventurers and monster hunters.
Silver weapons ignore resistances as if they were magical.

Dwemer or Dwarven

These armors and weapons are almost excusively found in dwemer ruins, they are relics of a lost race, a past age. The weapons and armor made by the mysterious dwemer are sturdy and can take the test of time, proven by their immaculate existance even when they were created millenia ago. Very few living smith can boast with the skill to recreate dwarven style weapons, so their availability is limited at best. Adventurers who have actually acquired these weapons rarely part from them, but if they do, only for a significant amount of septims.
All Dwemer weapons have +1 on attack and damage rolls. This does not make them magic weapons, and only represents prime materials and excellent craftmanship. Dwemer armor grants +1 AC, but only heavy armor variants exist.

Elven

These weapons and armor originate from the Summerset Isles, and were traditonally crafted by Altmer smiths from Moonstone ore. They are very light and easy to wear and wield, and are often favoured by adventurers who prefer light equipment.
Elven weapons have +1 on attack and damage rolls. This does not make them magic weapons, and only represents prime materials and excellent craftmanship. Elven armor does not have strength requirement, and does not impose disadvantage on stealth checks due to its light weight. Only Light and Medium armor exist in Elven design.

Exceptional materials

Glass

Made from the rare, stronger than steel volcanic material, malachite, these weapons and armors are tough and very light. They are incredibely rare and expensive, most people live their life without seeing actual malachite weapons.
Glass weapons have +2 on attack and damage rolls. This does not make them magic weapons, and only represents prime materials and excellent craftmanship. Glass armor does not have strength requirement, and does not impose disadvantage on stealth checks due to its light weight.

Ebony

Ebony is a rare, glass like volcanic material only found in a few places. Mining and selling Ebony ore is forbidden without an imperial charter. Ebony has many interesting alchemical traits, and it can create one of the strongest armor and weapons known by men. Ebony arms are extremely expensive and rare, only the most wealthy can afford ebony equipment.
All Ebony weapons have +2 on attack and damage rolls. This does not make them magic weapons, and only represents prime materials and excellent craftmanship. Ebony armor grants +2 AC, but only heavy armor variants exist.

Dragonbone and Dragonscale

The bones and scales of dragons are exceptionaly rare during most eras, as almost all of them were hunted down and killed. Weapons and armor made from them is just as rare, but they are equally powerful. These weapons are usually inherited or found in ancient tombs, and only the wealthiest can afford to wear them.
All Dragonbone weapons have +2 on attack and damage rolls. This does not make them magic weapons, and only represents prime materials and excellent craftmanship. Dragonbone and dragonscale armor grants +2 AC

Legendary materials

Daedric

Only denziens of Oblivion and the most skillful smiths in the history know how to bind a Daedra to ebony during smithing. A special ritual must be done in order to create the most durable, and most powerful material known to mortals. Daedric weapons and armor are legendary on their own right, and only artifacts could match their power.
All Daedric weapons have +3 on attack and damage rolls. They count as magical weapons in overcoming resistances and immunities. Daedric armor grants +3 AC, but only heavy armor variants exist.
